How to Lengthen Eyelashes Naturally

Long eyelashes add an element of beauty to the face hat is incredibly appealing. They also help keep your eyes healthy by keeping more dust and debris from falling into them. If you are struggling with short, brittle eyelashes there are a few natural tips you can apply that can help get them growing again.

Keep Hair Clean

When you go to bed with dust or makeup on your eyelashes it can get into the follicles and make them infected, which will make it difficult for hair to grow. Every night, dilute a bit of baby shampoo in a cup of water and use this mixture to wash your eyelashes. If your lashes also appear to be a bit brittle and fall out easily, use a bit of diluted baby conditioner as well. Always apply these cleansers gently and pat dry. Scrubbing will only pull out more lashes and take away from your progress.

Tip – Most tips that help improve hair growth can also be applied to your eyelashes.

Mascara can make lashes look long and full, but it also tends to dry out the hair. Always remove your makeup with a gentle eye makeup pad before going to bed to make sure your lashes are not being damaged by the beauty products you use. If you have dry, brittle hair as it is, try applying a bit of olive oil to the lashes before you head to bed. Wash it off in the morning and observe your softer, curlier lashes. However, if you tend to have oily lids you might want to skip this step because you could wind up with a sty.

Natural hair growth also relies on getting the right nutrients into your system so your body has the tools to make hair grow. Eat a lot of whole grains and dark, leafy greens that are rich in vitamin B5 and B9. These are both essential for hair growth. You can also find B vitamin supplements at the supermarket that include heavy doses of these nutrients that are specifically designed for those struggling with hair growth issues. If you decide to pick up a supplement, keep an eye out for one that also includes vitamin E. This nourishes skin and hair follicles, stimulating more growth.

If these tips are failing to produce results or you notice your hair is falling out, head to a doctor for an evaluation. You may have a condition like hypothyroidism that is contributing to your hair issues and will need treatment to maintain your overall health.
